Jason McDevitt
Jason McDevitt is Director of Technology Transfer at William & Mary, President of William & Mary Innovations, and Research Professor in the William & Mary Research Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale, and his PhD in chemistry from MIT. He worked for large companies in the chemical (Eastman Chemical), biotech (ICI/Zeneca, Novo Nordisk), and consumer product (Kimberly-Clark) industries before moving into university technology transfer (UGA, Emory, and W&M) and launching his own entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. McDevitt is an inventor on over 30 issued US patents and has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of other patent applications. He co-founded Extinction Pharmaceuticals to develop a novel treatment for anxiety disorders. He co-founded and ran GreenOps Ammo, which produced environmentally responsible shotgun ammunition before the technology was acquired by a major competitor in 2020.
